Shadows

In this dark place
I live only in hate
I live only in pain
I live only in agony

I feel
Like I'm being cut open
And all my hurt
Is bleeding onto the floor

My cries of misery
Echo through
This empty place
Bouncing off
These dark shadows

The people who live here
Laugh at me
They mock me
And they abuse me

My desperation
Swallows me whole
And I want nothing more
Than for it to leave me alone

Why?
Why must I suffer?
Why wont my pain
Just go away?

And as the shadows
Crawl closer to me
And threaten to kill me
